That case count included seven at our Daytona Beach, Florida, campus and four at our Prescott, Arizona, campus. There were no new positive cases at our Worldwide Headquarters campus.
In addition, on the Daytona Beach Campus, six people were quarantined after being exposed to the virus during this timeframe. On the Prescott Campus, 14 individuals were quarantined.
Booster Shots Now Available
For those who had their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least six months ago, booster doses are now widely available.
Multiple locations such as CVS and Walgreen’s pharmacies are offering the Pfizer booster dose: Eligibility info is listed online.
Halifax Health – and possibly other locations – can provide either the Pfizer or the Moderna booster vaccine, the latter of which is only eligible to those considered “moderately or severely immunocompromised.”
Under U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention guidelines, education staff are eligible for booster shots, even if they are not 65 or immunocompromised. This includes teachers and support staff members, as well as healthcare workers, food service and agricultural personnel, and others
Before seeking out a booster shot, talk to your healthcare provider about whether an additional dose is appropriate for you.
For your booster shot appointment, bring your vaccination card as well as your Embry-Riddle ID. All Embry-Riddle employees may be considered education staff.
Students should be aware that the CDC has also approved booster shots for adults over age 18 who “work or reside in certain settings” – including schools.
Embry-Riddle is continuing to emphasize two key preventive strategies:
- Wear your mask at all times inside Embry-Riddle buildings and aircraft.
- Get vaccinated as soon as possible, if you have not already done so.
Please review our quarantine and isolation protocols, which are based on U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance.
