Speaker Series: Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm

Jennifer Granholm served as Michigan’s 47th governor from 2003 to 2011. As governor, she led the state through a brutal economic downturn that resulted from a meltdown in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. She worked to diversify the state’s economy, strengthen its auto industry, preserve manufacturing jobs, and add emerging sectors such as clean energy. Marc discusses with Granholm her thoughts on opportunities for college graduates in the workplace and how to help students in managing the cost of higher education. Granholm is currently a Distinguished Adjunct Professor with the UC Berkeley School of Law & Goldman School of Public Policy as well as a Senior Research Fellow with the Berkeley Energy & Climate Institute and the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society.
