For the 15th consecutive year, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has earned a place among the nation’s Great Colleges to Work For, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program’s review of universities across the United States. This year’s achievement also includes elite Honor Roll status for being cited most often across all recognition categories.

The results — released online on the Great Colleges Program website and in the Sept. 19 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education — are based on a survey of 199 institutions by the Great Colleges to Work For® program, one of the largest workplace recognition programs in the country.

Of those reviewed, 76 were named as a 2025 Great Colleges to Work For, and only 42 were recognized with top Honor Roll status.

Embry‑Riddle earned honors in the following categories:

  • Job Satisfaction & Support.
  • Compensation & Benefits.
  • Professional Development.
  • Mission & Pride.
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness.
  • Faculty & Staff Well-Being.

“This recognition highlights that Embry-Riddle continues to build on its success as a premier place to learn and work,” said Embry-Riddle President P. Barry Butler. “It would not be possible without the dedication, spirit and service of our faculty and staff. As Embry-Riddle celebrates its centennial, all of us at this institution are called to the mission of preparing our students to reach their professional goals across aviation, aerospace and other fields, as well as excellence in everything we do.”

The Great Colleges to Work For® program recognizes colleges that have created exceptional work environments through their faculty and staff, as well as practices and policies. In its 18th year, the program also aims to further research and understand the factors that most impact organizational culture in higher education.

The program evaluates colleges through a two-part assessment process. This includes an institutional audit of employment data and workplace policies and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. Employee responses to the survey serve as the primary factor for determining recognition by the program.

Embry‑Riddle employs more than 3,000 faculty and staff worldwide. Benefits include paid parental leave, paid holidays including the week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day, a generous staff personal leave program, a four-day summer workweek, a 403(b) retirement plan with Embry‑Riddle gift and matching contributions, and health insurance with vision and dental coverage. A tuition waiver program also offers free and their family members free or discounted tuition.
