Embry-Riddle Announces Summer Courses for Residential Campus Students

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s residential campuses in Prescott, Ariz., and Daytona Beach, Fla., are continuing to provide online learning solutions for students amid the global health crisis. Prescott and Daytona Beach Campus students will be offered summer online instruction – in most cases, through the award-winning expertise and technology of Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide Campus.

To ensure that Prescott and Daytona Beach Campus students receive the broadest possible array of online course offerings, Summer A term classes will convert to online instruction and take place in Summer C, with term dates of May 31 - August 1 (rather than May 12 - June 18).

This shift aligns the residential Summer C and Worldwide Campus May term schedule so that key deadlines (i.e. financial aid) are synchronized. The courses that are not available through the Worldwide Campus, but can be provided online through the residential campuses, will also be switched to the Summer C term dates.

General guidelines are as follows:

  • There will be no Summer A courses. All summer courses will either be offered in Summer B or Summer C.
  • Where applicable, students already enrolled in the Prescott and Daytona Beach campuses for Summer A will automatically be enrolled in the equivalent Worldwide Campus course for Summer C (May 31 – August 1).
    • Students who have questions about this re-enrollment should contact their academic advisor.
    • The payment deadline for Summer C is May 21, 2020. However, you may drop Summer C courses, with no financial penalty, on or before June 4, 2020.
  • Other Prescott and Daytona Beach Summer A courses that have no Worldwide campus equivalent may be either migrated to a new online offering and taught during the Summer C term (May 31 – August 1), or moved to Summer B (June 30 – August 6).
    • Additional information regarding these courses will be provided this week by the Office of the Registrar on the Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses.
  • Additional information regarding any cancellations will be provided by your academic advisors and/or the Office of the Registrar.
  • Although we cannot predict the duration of the current health crisis in different regions, a plan for the Summer B term will be announced no later than May 15, 2020.
  • All Summer C online courses that were originally listed as a Summer A course will have a single, reduced tuition rate for residential campus students ($785 per credit hour).
  • Prescott and Daytona Beach students will continue to receive the full array of virtual services this summer that are currently being offered. Services range from virtual tutoring and career support, to wellness and spiritual counseling.

Students will receive a notification from their Registrar’s office when a change to their course registration occurs. Academic advisors will then provide campus-specific information and will be available to work with students to discuss their summer plans. Additional information on summer courses is available on ERNIE at https://ernie.erau.edu/Departments/provost/summer-courses/Pages/Default.aspx under the Daytona Beach or Prescott tab.
