Don’t Let Your Guard Down, Eagles – Covid-19 is on the Rise

With Covid-19 on the rise nationally, Embry-Riddle urged all Eagles to remain hyper-vigilant in their efforts to prevent the spread of the virus. We cannot let our guard down now, in the home stretch of the fall semester, as many of us are preparing to reunite with loved ones over the holidays.
Across the United States, the incidence of Covid-19 is soaring. Total reported cases of the virus rose by 72 percent over the 14-day period ending Nov. 12. Deaths increased by 33 percent. More than 120,000 new cases were reported on a single day, Nov. 5.
At Embry-Riddle, our latest testing results revealed 16 new cases of Covid-19 on our Daytona Beach, Florida campus and two new cases on our Prescott, Arizona campus, for the time period Nov. 5-12.
Now is the time to ramp up our fight against this global pandemic. Please continue to do your part:
- Wear a mask, both on- and off-campus. Remind others.
- Stay six feet apart, even as you gather with friends and family members.
- Have a flu shot and practice rigorous hand hygiene.
- Embry-Riddle employees should not plan any university holiday parties.
- If possible, driving alone is the safest way to travel.
- Follow all travel guidelines. If you are sick, or you think you may have been exposed to Covid-19, do not expose others. Contact the healthcare team on your campus.
