Daytona Beach Campus Reopens Outdoor Recreation Facilities

While indoor athletic facilities remain closed at this time, Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach Campus this week reopened outdoor recreational facilities, with strict health precautions in place.

Participants must practice physical distancing, maintaining at least six feet of separation whenever possible. Face coverings are also strongly recommended for those using outdoor recreational facilities, given the risk of close contact between individuals.

For those who are not engaged in outdoor exercise within designated outdoor recreation facilities, face coverings remain mandatory in all common areas, indoors and outdoors, whenever you are on campus.

The following outdoor recreational facilities are now available for use:

Tennis Courts:
Courts 7-9 will be available for students, faculty and staff. Daylight hours only.
Singles play only – maximum of two people per court.

Courts 1-6 will be available for use by the intercollegiate tennis coaches and players. Daylight hours only.
Singles play only – maximum of two people per court.

Outdoor Basketball Courts:
Individual play only.
Each person must use their own basketball and basket.

Sand Volleyball Courts:
Limit the number of players to a maximum of four on each side of the net.

Richard Petty East Field:
Open during daylight hours only.
No more than 10 people on any one field at a time.

Embry-Riddle plans to reopen the Daytona Beach Campus Fitness Center on May 26. Further information will be provided soon.

As Embry-Riddle slowly reopens, in keeping with President Butler’s Path Forward strategy, we ask everyone to be smart and do their part to prevent the spread of illness.
