Business Club Wins Competition for Tenth Consecutive Year

For the tenth straight year, Embry-Riddle Prescott’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Business Club won the PBL Arizona Leadership Competition, held at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. The annual event, now in its 46th year, is sponsored by the Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda, the largest student business organization in the world. Its primary goal is to help students develop business and leadership skills for a competitive edge in their future careers.
At the 2016 PBL State Leadership Conference, 40 students from Embry-Riddle’s Prescott campus competed in the 48 individual and team events, racking up the largest number of first-places finishes (43) and the largest number of total awards (88 first, second and third place awards).
Competing in this year’s event were more than 100 students from Arizona State University, Eastern Arizona College, Embry-Riddle, Northern Arizona University, Phoenix College, Central Arizona College and Virtual Chapter.
“I’m very proud of our students who performed exceptionally well against formidable competitors from well-established programs at multiple colleges and universities,” said Dr. Javad Gorjidooz, Business Administration Program Chair. “This victory clearly indicates the quality of the students, the Business faculty at Embry-Riddle, and the strong support of our administration.”
The winners of the state competition are eligible to compete in the 2016 PBL National Leadership Conference to be held June 24-27 in Atlanta, Georgia.
