Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus Earns Top Nod in Job Market Study for Second Year in a Row
In a recent study evaluating thousands of colleges, Embry-Riddle’s Prescott Campus in Arizona was named to AffordableCollegeOnline.org’s “Million Dollar ROI” (Return on Investment) rankings for 2014. This list identifies the top 1 percent of U.S. private colleges whose graduates out-earn non-degree holders by at least $1 million during their careers.
“With so much national awareness and sensitivity concerning the cost of a college education, we are very pleased with this recognition of the value of the investment students make in themselves at Embry-Riddle,” said Bryan Dougherty, Dean of Admissions for the Prescott Campus.
AC Online developed the following criteria for consideration as a “High ROI College”: Fully accredited institution, either public or private, four-year, degree-granting institution and ROI according to PayScale’s 2014 College Value Report.
AC Online compiled a list of schools meeting these criteria by using the following authoritative data sets:
- NCES, the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education. It provides indicators of education status and trends.
- IPEDS, the primary federal source for data on colleges, universities and technical and vocational postsecondary schools in the United States.
- Carnegie Classification, a framework widely used in the study of higher education, both as a way to represent and control for institutional differences, and also in the design of research studies to ensure adequate representation of sampled institutions, students or faculty.
- Payscale.com, the premier salary data collection organization. Each year PayScale compiles statistics from public, private and for-profit schools while also surveying their graduates who earned a bachelor’s degree and are employed full-time in the United States.
