Remzi Seker Named Embry-Riddle Research Fellow

Dr. Remzi Seker, director of the Cybersecurity and Assured Systems Engineering (CyBASE) Center, professor of Computer Science and an accomplished scholar in the field of cybersecurity has accepted the position of Embry-Riddle Research Fellow.

Since joining Embry-Riddle in 2012, Dr. Seker – who also coordinates the M.S. in Cybersecurity Engineering and the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Ph.D. programs – has distinguished himself through his leadership, scholarship and his ability to develop successful program. 

Under his leadership of CyBASE, Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach Campus was designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education in 2016 by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, with an additional designation for Secure Software Development – a title held by only six institutions of higher education in the U.S. 

As Research Fellow, Dr. Seker will advise and work closely with deans and other Embry-Riddle leadership to enhance the University’s research mission. He will provide strategic recommendations for developing externally funded research opportunities and expand research opportunities for faculty and students, including through leveraging the University’s industry/research park partners. He will also manage internal research funding programs. Dr. Seker will further develop initiatives such as mentoring programs, and he will advise the Provost on the continued development, program review, and assessment of Ph.D. programs, policies and procedures.
