Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is proud to introduce Kevin Hewerdine as Prescott campus’ Director of Career Services and Corporate Relations. His 30 years of experience includes 17 years as the Director of Career Services & Employer Relations at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

With nearly 30 years of experience in career services and corporate relations, Hewerdine will contribute his knowledge and insight in building nationally recognized employer relations programs at the Prescott campus by increasing the level of experiential and full-time career opportunities that students have come to expect while attending Embry-Riddle.

“I envision the mission of career services will be to support, empower, and educate our students to be active participants in their career development process starting from the time they step foot on campus,” said Hewerdine. “Combining the tremendous academic preparations students receive with an increased level of professional development opportunities will lead to post-graduation success.”

“I’m very excited about how Director Hewerdine will contribute to our total student development philosophy,” said Prescott campus’ Chief Academic Officer Dr. Richard Bloom. “He’ll be working closely with our academic team to ensure our students develop superior skills intellectually and professionally which are coveted by world leaders in aviation, aerospace, and related areas. He’ll also facilitate opportunities for our faculty and students to meet the pressing challenges of an increasingly complex world.”

Graduating from Brigham Young University in Counseling Psychology, Hewerdine has shaped his operating philosophy on his experience as a father of three college graduates to help college students see the possibilities that surround them.

“If a student is going to invest in a quality education, there better be something of value at the end of that tunnel,” said Hewerdine. “The only reason for being at this University is for our students. We exist because they are here.”

Hewerdine joins Embry-Riddle’s robust Career Services team who provide Prescott campus students and alumni information and services helpful in the employment search and recruitment process. Career Services routinely holds career expos and virtual hiring events, and offers resume writing and interview assistance. Embry-Riddle currently ranks in the top one percent of all small private colleges for return on investment by Affordable Colleges Online.

“Besides bringing my wife and I closer to family, joining Embry-Riddle will continue to allow me to experience what I have done for 30 years,” said Hewerdine. “I fully look forward to continuing my career at Embry-Riddle.”
