Dr. Maneesh Sharma Appointed Dean of the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Worldwide
Dr. John Watret, Chancellor of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus, has announced the appointment of Dr. Maneesh Sharma as Dean of Worldwide’s College of Business. He joins Embry-Riddle from Tiffin University in Ohio, where he served as the Dean of the School of Business and a Professor of Finance.
“We welcome Dr. Sharma to Embry-Riddle Worldwide as Dean of our growing College of Business,” said Watret. “His experience in both the educational and private sectors offers opportunities to take the College in positive new directions.”
Prior to Tiffin University, Sharma held a number of teaching and administrative positions at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne, including Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs and External Relations and MBA Director; Director of the Institute of Pension Plan Management; and Department Chair of Accounting and Finance.
“Dr. Sharma is an educator and thought leader in the continued development of remote classrooms and online learning strategies that successfully engage faculty and students,” said Dr. Karen Holbrook, Interim President of Embry-Riddle. “We’re fortunate to have him join our team.”

In the private sector, Sharma has consulted extensively as a lead strategic advisor for private equity firms and businesses, including public utilities, medical device manufacturers, and construction material and logistics companies.
Sharma’s academic credentials include a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and a Ph.D. in Finance, both from the University of Alabama. He has received several honors for teaching excellence and recent research awards include grants from the Society of Actuaries and the National Endowment for Financial Education.
