Business Professors Comment on How, Why Computer Crashes Can Cause Flight Delays, Cancellations

The Washington Post interviewed College of Business Professor of Economics and Finance Dr. Bijan Vasigh for a story titled "Delta Computers Crash, Causing Delays and Cancellations. Experts say it Shouldn’t Have Happened."

“The cost (of Monday’s shutdown) should be huge for Delta Air Lines,” Dr. Vasigh said. “I’m sure that they will try to revisit this issue.”

Ahmed Abdelghany, associate professor of Operations Management at the Daytona Beach Campus, agrees. He was intereviewed by Wired, in a story titled, "How a Computer Outage Can Take Down a Whole Airline."
