Embry-Riddle Asia students recently made a visit to Boeing Flight Services Singapore campus for a tour of the facility and the unique opportunity to fly a 737NG level-D full flight simulator.

The 12 students were split into three groups of four with each group spending about 45 minutes in the simulator giving all of the students a chance to perform a takeoff and landing.  The students, who were enrolled in ASCI 254 - Aviation Legislation, all had prior flight experience but mainly in a light aircraft and nothing as large as a 737.

The visit was hosted by Pat Curtin and Randy Carrido from Boeing Flight Services and organized by adjunct instructor, Capt. Mike Mylan, a retired airline captain and former instructor at Boeing's campus in Singapore.

The university hopes to offer similar opportunities at CAE and the Airbus Asia Training Center (AATC)in Singapore.

Embry-Riddle Asia, based in Singapore and launched in January 2011, offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs as well as online programs through academic and business partnerships in Asia.

As a part of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Worldwide Campus and in association with the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), Embry-Riddle Asia offers part-time, blended-delivery graduate programs specifically for working professionals as well as part-time and full-time undergraduate and graduate degrees for students looking to earn their bachelor’s and master’s degree while working or before entering the workforce through a partnership with ERC Institute. Degrees conferred in Singapore carry the same accreditation and industry recognition as Embry-Riddle’s residential campuses in the United States, and locally are approved by the Committee for Private Education (a division of the Ministry of Education) for delivery through ERC Institute.
