OCOB Doctoral Program Achieves Success
In August, the David B. O'Maley College of Business (OCOB) hosted its eighth consecutive week-long residency for scholars in the Doctor of Aviation Business Administration (DABA) program.
Three students from our new cohort attended, including Hamad AlJowder (Senior Manager, Dubai Airport), Abiy Eshetu (Manufacturing Engineer, Pratt & Whitney) and Stacy Borders (Senior Manager, United Airlines). They were joined by scholars from previous cohorts for an action-packed week.
Students engaged in sessions hosted by subject matter experts and attended networking events. One of the highlights was when students presented their own research ideas in a poster session co-hosted by the College of Aviation doctoral program. The session was well-attended, allowing the scholars to receive meaningful feedback, and included a visit from our new Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, Dr. Kelly M. Austin.
Over the summer, DABA also celebrated two other milestones: Dr. Hari Adhikari was appointed Doctoral Program Coordinator (congratulations, Dr. Adhikari!), and Dr. Brett Watts successfully defended his dissertation, “Career Motivation for Commercial Pilots,” under the supervision of Dr. Tamilla Curtis as dissertation chair and Dr. Scott Ambrose and Dr. Timothy Holt as committee members.
