NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy to Speak at Embry-Riddle, Feb. 26
The Honorable Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), will address students, faculty and staff at Embry-Riddle at 6:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Feb. 26.
The event, part of Embry-Riddle’s Presidential Speaker Series, is open to the public. It will take place in the Capt. Willie Miller Instructional Center, Gale Lemerand Auditorium, on the Daytona Beach Campus.
Jennifer HomendyThe NTSB chair will be interviewed by Shyan Khalil, an Embry-Riddle student in the Aerospace and Occupational Safety program, at the event, hosted by Embry-Riddle President P. Barry Butler, Ph.D. Embry-Riddle Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Kelly Austin will also be on hand to welcome Homendy.
Following her remarks, Chair Homendy will answer students’ questions. All students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
Jennifer Homendy was sworn in as the 15th chair of the NTSB in August 2021 after being nominated by the U.S. president and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Chair Homendy has served as the agency’s 44th board member since 2018. A tireless safety advocate, Chair Homendy has spent more than two decades supporting the critical safety mission of the NTSB, the independent federal agency that investigates crashes in all modes of transportation, determines the probable causes and issues recommendations to improve transportation safety.
