Our Daytona Beach Campus has seen remarkable growth over the past few years. We have added several new facilities across campus, including the Mori Hosseini Student Union, new labs in the Research Park and many improvements to the athletic complex. We are about to open our newest residence hall with a large food court on the ground floor, which will include 10 specialty dining stations.

The courtyard between the two new residence halls features basketball and sand volleyball courts, hammocks, BBQ grills, wireless internet and outlets by the concrete seating. The walkway winding through the courtyard runs from Legacy Walk at the Student Union to the pedestrian bridge over Richard Petty Blvd. that connects to the Student Village.

In addition, next month we will begin a new phase of construction to support our growing student population. We will remove the racquetball courts and adjacent three modular buildings (#249, #253 and #273) to make way for additional office space and residence hall suites.

Removal of these buildings is set to begin the next few weeks. Beginning next week, departments currently housed within these facilities will relocate until the new Residence Hall (Phase 3)  is complete. These changes should have a minimal impact on campus activities.

Affected departments and their new office locations include:

Division of International Programs

Student Center Annex, second floor

Department of Diversity and Inclusion

Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence
