Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students from around the globe have chosen the first three leaders of the inaugural Worldwide Campus Student Government Association (SGA).

The newly elected SGA president is Jamarius Reid from North Carolina, who is completing his master’s degree in the Unmanned Systems / Space Systems programs with plans to apply to the Ph.D. in Aviation program for 2021.

Reid said he is excited for the chance to make a difference and will be guided by the credo that has helped him get this far: “Strive to make an impact wherever you go, because everywhere you've been has made an impact on you.”

SGA Vice President Laura Molano, a native of Medellín, Colombia, is majoring in Aeronautics to become a certified flight instructor. She is anxious to get to work on her mission of “assuring every student is heard and acknowledged while building a strengthened and united Worldwide Campus community.”

The SGA treasurer is Hawaiian native Michael Lopez. Now living in Texas, Lopez is majoring in Business Analytics and aiming to become a project manager and entrepreneur. He wants to serve “the student body by upholding integrous and accurate management of SGA funds, seeking ways to achieve strategic goals and supporting leaders and authorities.”

This groundbreaking Worldwide SGA leadership group is already getting to work to ensure that Worldwide students have the same strong voice enjoyed by their residential campus peers. They are also planning to collaborate with their SGA colleagues from the Daytona Beach, Prescott and Singapore campuses.
