Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Yokota Campus was proud to host students representing Worldwide campus locations at Kadena, Atsugi, and Yokosuka in Japan and Camp Humphreys in South Korea at the University’s Inaugural PACOM (United States Pacific Command) Commencement Ceremony near Tokyo, Japan.

This year’s commencement ceremony saluted graduating students from all of Embry-Riddle’s campuses in the PACOM locations in a picturesque venue where the essence of Japan was evident in the gardens and facility decor. A reception for attendees and local alumni followed the ceremony and included a champagne toast with the guests to mark the momentous occasion.

Dr. Robert Walton, Executive Director for Campus Operations, International, expressed his gratitude towards family, friends, and faculty who gathered to support the students’ achievements. “We offer our warmest congratulations to our new alumni and look forward to supporting them, as they continue their careers and lifelong journeys, said Walton. “We also thank our dedicated staff for their great efforts in making our inaugural commencement a memorable occasion for our students and their families.”

The keynote speaker was Ms. Laura Dean, Chief of Education and Training for Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces Directorate of Manpower, Personnel & Services, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Special attendees included David Robinson, Navy College Director for Yokosuka and the Far East Area and Rickie Shiflet, Contract Specialist.

“We are honored and proud to host our inaugural Embry-Riddle PACOM graduation ceremony at Yokota AB,” said William Muldoon, Vice-Chancellor, Worldwide. “The unparalleled support of the community, Ms. Dean, and our government partners has been instrumental to our students’ success as we have initiated our programs in the Pacific.  PACOM’s robust and enthusiastic Voluntary Education community is energizing, and a critical piece of our extensive network of US military campuses.”
