Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) — the training arm of Gulf Air Group (GFG) and a leading aviation training center in the Middle East and North Africa region — and Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University have announced a commercial training alliance to expand aviation training opportunities in the region and beyond. This announcement follows an initial exploration of collaboration opportunities between the two institutions.

The announcement was made at the recent Bahrain International Airshow, a key driver of business development for the aviation and aerospace industries in the Gulf region and a platform for innovation and development for industry leaders, military personnel and government entities from around the world.

Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide Campus and GAA will work together on programs such as English for Flight Training Assessment, English for Air Traffic Control and English for Flight Training, which are designed to equip students and trainees with vital language skills required in the aviation industry.

Worldwide Campus Chancellor John R. Watret, Ph.D., praised the collaboration. “Global partnerships bring together diverse perspectives and enhanced expertise,” he said. “We are very pleased to partner with GAA and to have the opportunity to provide practical, experiential training that ensures graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to immediately transition into the workforce and build enduring careers.”

Captain Qasim Ismaeel, chief operating officer of Gulf Air, also commented on the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University demonstrates our dedication to enhancing the quality of aviation education and training. We look forward to the positive impact these new training initiatives will have on preparing our students for successful careers in the industry.”
