Notes on the Most Recent Outcomes

Though preliminary, results to date have encouraged us. Our strict health and testing protocols appear to be working. We will continue to fine-tune our testing strategies for the fall 2020 semester. We are investigating all available technologies, including wastewater testing devices that could provide us with real-time information on any outbreaks of illness, at the earliest stages.

There is no evidence at present of any confirmed transmission of Covid-19 within the university itself. Transmission has occurred off campus, and those affected must remain off campus after testing positive or exhibiting symptoms.

The university is leveraging its foundational safety culture while mandating face coverings, daily wellness checks, physical distancing and increased disinfection procedures. Diagnostic tests, approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, are being completed in collaboration with healthcare providers. The surveillance testing, planned as part of Embry-Riddle’s Path Forward strategy, will be ongoing throughout the summer and fall 2020 semester, for selected faculty, staff and students. Those selected for a required test will receive direct notification via email.
