Embry-Riddle AFROTC Cadets Receive Air and Space Force Jobs, NATCON Awards

Embry‑Riddle’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 157 cadets landed U.S. Air Force and Space Force jobs, after Det. 157 held its "Job Drop" last week for cadets graduating and commissioning in December 2025 and May 2026.

The Job Drop refers to the announcement of cadets’ assigned Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC), which designate the specific job a graduating cadet will hold in the Air Force upon commissioning. 

AFROTC cadets getting awards.“Job selection statistics were phenomenal with 66 out of 71 cadets receiving their number one choice,” said Maj. Nicole Augins, assistant professor of Aerospace Studies with AFROTC Det 157.

Additional statistics included 54 out 55 cadets receiving a Rated job and 2 out of 6 Aerospace Physiologist selects nationwide, she said.

Additionally, several Embry‑Riddle’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 157 cadets, who are part of the Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings organizations, received awards at this year’s National Conclave (NATCON) held April 11-15 in Atlanta, Georgia. NATCON is an event for Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings members to discuss various topics and hear from industry and military leaders.

The Eagles receiving awards include:

  • Tate Jordan was awarded the Arnold Air Society National Level Medal for outstanding service to the organization.
  • Edgar Gonzalez received the Arnold Air Society National Certificate of Appreciation. 
  • Owen Humphries was awarded the Air and Space Forces Association Diane O’Malley Silver Wings Outstanding Service Award. 
  • Jimmy De Rugeriis received the Outstanding Region President Award. 
  • Ava Zoldos was chosen for the Dr. Bonnie J. Dunbar Member of the Year Award. 
  • Emily Ali was selected for the Monica Browning Outstanding Chapter President Award.
  • Embry-Riddle’s Silver Wings Challenger Chapter received the Dennis H. Sattler Outstanding Chapter Award, which is given to a Silver Wings chapter for overall outstanding performance.
