A team of five cadets from Embry-Riddle’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 157 placed 9th out of 50 teams in the 36th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March held at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, while also setting a new detachment record.

Training since November, the team competed in the ROTC Heavy Division (35-pound ruck) and completed the marathon in 7 hours and 3 minutes. The cadets included Tyler Stichberry, William Magdziuk, Dominic Sienna, Asher Baggaley and Cole Perkins.

The 26.2-mile competition, held March 22, took place over rugged desert terrain with high elevation and, at times, extreme temperatures. It honored the fallen heroes and the survivors of the brutal Bataan Death March of World War II.
