A total of 304 students from the Prescott Campus, along with 37 students from the Worldwide Campus, participated in Spring 2016 Commencement held on Saturday, May 7, at the Prescott Valley Event Center. “This year we are graduating the largest and highest-achieving class in our history,” said Chancellor Dr. Frank Ayers. “They are going on to significant careers in the areas of aviation, engineering, security, business and the applied sciences. These industries are waiting impatiently for them and so many have already secured employment.”

Following a speech by Embry-Riddle Interim President Dr. Karen Holbrook, alumnus Gabriel Navaratte, who serves as Chief Security Officer for Falcon Global Strategies, delivered the commencement address. Sgt. Alex Mangum then delivered an address as graduating class speaker.

Tessa Fredrick, Marquina Araquistain and Dr. Brian Davis were recipients of the Chancellor’s Award, Ed King Community Service Award and the Distinguished Faculty Award, respectively.

The graduating class included 19 students receiving military commissions: 11 from Air Force ROTC and eight from Army ROTC.

A total of 92 students graduated with honors (Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude) and two Masters students graduated With Distinction.

“In addition to the hard work of our staff, we wanted to thank Prescott Valley Event Center, Prescott Pro Sound and Botanic Effects for their support and involvement in making for an outstanding commencement ceremony,” said Sally Jackson, Embry-Riddle Graduation Committee chairwoman.
