Embry-Riddle to Offer First Ph.D. in Aviation Business Administration in U.S.

Aviation BizEmbry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently accepting candidates for the nation's first Ph.D. in Aviation Business Administration.

Registration for the inaugural class ends April 30, with classes beginning in August. Coursework for the 60-credit-hour degree will be delivered online and through a live, virtual classroom environment. Students will also spend a week at Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach campus at the beginning of the program. 

"Growing global markets have created a new need for professionals with advanced aviation business expertise," said College of Business Professor and Ph.D. Program Coordinator Massoud Bazargan. "This program is designed to generate research and analysis that will guide stakeholders as global aviation continues to evolve."

Core curriculum topics include advanced study of aviation economics, marketing management in aviation, aviation accounting, managerial finance in aviation and organizational behavior in aviation. Students also take coursework in statistics and multivariate analysis, business quantitative models and research methods. Additional requirements include elective research seminars and a dissertation.​
