Students, faculty and alumni have taken the Center for Entrepreneurshipup on its offer to “Launch Your Venture” and will display their developing projects during the April 12 Entrepreneurship Expo. Starting at 9 a.m. on the Flight Deck, 25 teams will present their ideas during a poster session and judging before a small group of entrepreneurs and members of the venture investment community.

One of the judges, Dr. Peter McAlindon, is a Winter-Park based alumnus who is the founder and CEO of technology company Blue Orb, Inc., and co-founder of venVelo business accelerator and seed capital fund. He’s currently the entrepreneur in residence at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business. Dr. McAlindon and others will also participate in a panel discussion from 1 to 2 p.m. in COB 114.

Top winners will walk away with cash prizes of $1,500 and $500. Team ideas range from tools that can assist consumers with problems in everyday life like foggy windshields and sandy feet to business solutions for aviation and non-aviation companies. Additional projects help patients cope with medical conditions like sleep apnea and visual impairment, while others utilize technology including unmanned systems, robotics and satellites.

The campus community is invited to the expo, which also includes a networking hour from noon to 1 p.m. in the COB Atrium. For more information, contact Dr. Michael Bowers at 226-7554 or bowersm1@erau.edu.
