Embry-Riddle Wins Big at 2016 National American Advertising Awards

National Silver AAF Operation Bootstrap

Embry-Riddle’s Jonathon Metz has been awarded a Silver ADDY Award at the 2016 National American Advertising Awards in Los Angeles, the advertising industry's largest and most prestigious competition.

Metz’s 50th anniversary Operation Bootstrap print piece was one of 40,000 entries this year from local Ad Club competitions, which includes the American Advertising Federation’s 100 corporate members comprising the nation’s leading advertisers, advertising agencies and media companies.

"These awards acknowledge the achievement of that perfect combination of superlative creative, spectacular technique and stellar execution,” said James Edmund Datri, President & CEO of the American Advertising Federation. “We proudly showcase the best of the best, and celebrate a new class of leaders in the advertising industry who inspire us all."

In addition to Metz’s national award, the Embry-Riddle Marketing Team brought home the most ADDY awards in their Florida/Caribbean district and local competitions – five Gold and five Silver total with Metz receiving four of the team’s gold awards and four of the silver. Creative Director Trish Kabus received the Judge’s Choice Gold ADDY Award, and Multimedia Producers David Massey and Daryl Labello each received Silver ADDY awards.

“Jonathon and the creative group in our marketing department produce outstanding work on a consistent basis,” said Mark DiFabio, Associate Vice President for Marketing at Embry-Riddle. “It’s an honor to be recognized by the AAF on the local, district and especially the national level for our work this year. This is a testament to the team’s extraordinary talent and creative excellence.”

“Design is my life,” said Metz, art director for the university marketing department. “I am passionate about it and I surround myself with it day-in and day-out. It is an honor be recognized by my industry peers. It reinforces the enthusiasm I bring to my work and it highlights the emphasis our creative team places on exceptional design.”
