Worldwide Campus Spring Commencement Ceremony Coming May 5 in Daytona Beach

Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide Campus Spring 2018 commencement ceremony for 452 students will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the I.C.I. Center on Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach Campus, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.

The commencement keynote speaker is Embry-Riddle alumnus Tom Conard, Senior Director of Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) and T-X Capture Team Leader for Strike, Surveillance and Mobility (SSM), a division within Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS). 

As senior director of SSM – one of the world’s largest providers of fixed wing military airpower, serving the United States and allied nations – Conard manages sales, marketing and business development activities for a portfolio of strike, surveillance and mobility platforms, including the Super Hornet F/A-18E/F/G, F-15, KC-46, JSTARS, P-8, T-X, legacy aircraft bombers, AWACS and VIPSAM platforms. He oversees the capture of all new business and “keep it sold” efforts for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

In his role as capture team leader for the T-X program, Conard leads the team responsible for strategy, marketing, advocacy, new business funds, proposal development and customer engagement.

With 30 years at Boeing, Conard previously was director of Global Sales & Marketing for Training Systems and Government Services and Director of Business Development for the Maintenance, Modifications & Upgrades Division among other leadership positions.

Conard holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (’85, DB) and an MBA degree from another university. While at Embry-Riddle, he served as student body president and was a member of Lambda Chi. He is based in St. Louis, at Boeing’s Strike, Surveillance and Mobility division headquarters.

The Worldwide commencement ceremony will be streamed live from the Streaming Eagles Live web site to accommodate all families and friends of graduates who are unable to attend this year's commencement ceremony. The broadcast will begin approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. The ceremony is not recorded, but is available on demand on the Streaming Eagles website afterwards.
