SINGAPORE – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Asia celebrated the accomplishments of 106 new graduates, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aeronautics and aviation business administration.

Keynote speaker at the Dec. 7 commencement ceremony in Singapore was Conrad Clifford, Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific at the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Honored guests included Embry-Riddle Worldwide Chancellor Dr. John R. Watret, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dr. Randy Howard and Vice President, General Counsel Charlie Sevastos and other dignitaries from academia and the aviation/aerospace industry.

About 10 percent of the graduates were from outside Singapore, including students from China, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea.

Launched in January 2011 and headquartered in Singapore, Embry-Riddle Asia is the university’s first and only residential location in Asia. With the goal of providing accredited higher educational opportunities in the growing aviation market, Embry-Riddle Asia works closely with key partners Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), Singapore University of Social Sciences (formerly UniSIM) and ERC Institute (ERCi) in Singapore to deliver doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s degree programs. Since its first commencement ceremony in 2012, Embry-Riddle has conferred more than 500 degrees from its Singapore Campus.

“We are extremely proud of Embry-Riddle’s involvement in Asia,” said Watret. “With the help of important partners in the region, we are bringing world-class instruction and training in aeronautics and aviation business administration to a rapidly growing market.”
