More Than 200 Graduates to Participate in Prescott Commencement Ceremony Dec. 16

ERAU Prescott Commencement Ceremony

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott and Worldwide Campuses will graduate more than 200 students at the University’s Fall 2017 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at the Prescott Valley Event Center.

Featuring 132 students from the Prescott Campus and 69 from the Worldwide Campus, the graduating class includes 19 Prescott students receiving military commissions: 13 from Air Force ROTC and six from Army ROTC. The class also includes Ph.D. candidate and Embry-Riddle assistant professor Timothy A. Sestak. This will be the first time a Ph.D. will be awarded at a Prescott commencement ceremony.

The keynote speaker will be Katie Pribyl, Senior Vice President, Aviation Strategy and Programs for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Pribyl is an Embry-Riddle Prescott alumna who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science in Fall 2000. She was also a member of the Golden Eagles Flight Team from 1997-2000, including the 1999 National Championship Team. Pribyl is an active pilot with more than 4,500 hours of accumulated flight time.

"Coming back to campus is always like coming home for me," said Pribyl. "In so many ways, my time at Embry-Riddle laid the foundation for everything that has followed, and I know that will be equally true for this year's graduates. That's why I'm excited to be part of commencement, and why I can't wait to see all the great and surprising things this graduating class will achieve."

“This class is the brightest to have entered our university, and they have demonstrated excellence in the classroom, in a variety of amazing projects, competitions, internships, and consulting opportunities, and are wonderful human beings who care about each other and their university,” said Prescott Chancellor Dr. Frank Ayers.
